The first of the Beastie and Bone North American Megafauna Project paper taxidermies, CROWNED SABER surrounds the skull of extinct Smilodon fatalis - the saber-tooth cat - with a flower that now grows so plentifully in the Midwest that was once this apex predator’s hunting ground it is often even considered a weed. But nowadays the Midwestern goldenrod blooms are part of the habitat of endangered creatures like grey wolves, numerous butterflies, and the Copperbelly water snake. If conservation efforts to protect the wild and native species of the American Midwest are not supported, it’s only a matter of time before these and other species join Smilodon fatalis as a distant, and alien-looking, wonder.
Printed on 100% recycled kraft paper. Not waterproof and not recommended for outdoor use.
